PlayStation 3 players, on the other hand, are currently in the dark - no date has been announced for the PS3 version of Trilogy, and none of its DLC has been detailed, either. The Mass Effect Legendary Edition includes single-player base content and over 40 DLC from the highly acclaimed Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 games, including promo weapons, armors, and packs remastered and optimized for 4K Ultra HD.

The Mass Effect Trilogy's DLC offerings will differ by platform, with PC players set to get a slightly better deal than their Xbox 360 owning friends. Granted, the Extended Cut is a free download - but it still would have been nice (to say nothing of convenient) to have it right on the disc. Nor will From Ashes or the Extended Cut, despite the fact that both will ship on-disc in the Wii U version of Mass Effect 3. Take a seat before you read the next line. Unfortunately, neither of those episodes will be included as part of the Mass Effect Trilogy. The purpose of this mathleticism was to collate all the disparate bits of DLC, pre-order bonus, unlocks and whatnot available for the upcoming marketing monolith that is Mass Effect 3, and just how much itd cost someone to lay hands on the whole shebang. Though Commander Shepard's story is at an end, BioWare is still supporting Mass Effect 3 with DLC - Leviathan arrived just a month ago ( read our review), and new content set on Omega Station is expected to debut later this Fall. The Mass Effect 2 DLC Bundle is 24.99 USD, and that doesn’t include the original game. Now however, you can purchase DLC bundles for ME2 and ME3 on Origin’s online store, but the price is stiff for last-gen DLC. Then, you have to download each piece individually and run them to add the new content to the game. That question has now been answered by BioWare itself, and while the Mass Effect Trilogy remains a bargain at $59.99, fans who hoped that every bit of Mass Effect DLC would be packed into the Trilogy are going to be disappointed. Worse still, a subscription to Origin Access was falsely believed to provide all DLC. Origin Access - the PC service granting players loads of EA games, discounts, and early access to upcoming title for 3.99 a month - has added the Mass Effect Trilogy to its Vault. The only way to get access to the DLC (I believe this is still the case) is to visit a very old and rarely used site ( and buy it all through there. Given the huge amount of DLC released for the games over the years, players are understandably curious about just how complete this seemingly definitive collection will be.
